Hi and welcome to Jamf School Teacher Online - our new version of Jamf School Teacher Online (released in update 5.3.2) comes with a completely new design. We've also got a community forum post for users to post their Feedback.
The login screen is pretty straightforward; Select your school and log in with your details. If the teacher forgets their details, it is possible for them to reset their password.
This screen welcomes the teacher upon logging into Jamf School Teacher Online.
Here the teacher can quickly navigate using the buttons or the sidebar. We're planning on adding extra features to the Welcome screen. If you have any suggestions on what teachers would like to see on this page, please leave them on our Community Forums.
When navigating to the classes section you'll see an overview of the classes you can manage.
Selecting a class you'll see the following:
Here you'll have a bunch of options to choose from within the class which we'll go over now.
In the 'Edit Class' overview teachers can create sub-groups in a specific class, this would be useful if, for example, there's a group project and you need to send messages to a specific group.
With this option teachers can start a lesson that has been created, this is done in 3 steps.
Note: This article will cover how to create the lesson in the lesson section.
Step 1: Select a student
Step 2: Select a lesson
Step 3: Select a time frame
Step 4: Confirm your choices
These 4 steps; Selecting a student, Select options, Selecting the time frame, and Confirmation are used throughout most features within a class, with the exception of Unlocking and Messages. Please refer to the previous screenshots when we're going the other options in a class.
With the AppLock function you can force students to use selected Apps.
As with Applock, with Weblock you can lock a student into certain websites given by the teacher, you can also optionally lock in the teacher in Safari.
With this option you can set certain restrictions for the students.
With this message a teacher is able to send a specific message to either the whole class or a specific student. There are a few preset messages but you can also enter a custom message.
With this function you're able to send a message to either a group of students, the whole class, or a specific student.
With the Apps function you can install Apps on the students devices. Either from VPP or from the App-Store (Keep in mind students need to be logged in with an Apple ID if you want to send App-Store apps to the student's device).
With this feature a teacher is simply able to unlock a student's iPad.
With this feature teachers can create and manage their own lessons. These lessons can either be created in Jamf School Management System or within the Apps. After the lesson is created they can be used in a Class.
Here you can select which Apps you want to allow in the class, what websites you want to allow (Any unlisted websites will be blocked), and which restrictions you want to apply to the lesson. You can also delete the lesson.
In this section you can see all messages sent to your students, either sent from here or from a class.
You can send a new message from this page, you'll have to select a class and afterwards select the students you want to send the message to.
In the settings the teacher can change their own password, they can also change the language here and logout.
